How we found out we were expecting!

We found out two days before our trip to Europe. I was a day late on my period, and since we had been trying for about 6 months I decided I would just take a test. While I was out shopping for our trip I decided to grab a pregnancy test. When I got to my parents to drop off our keys they weren’t home so I just decided to take one of the tests there, and it was FAULTY. Nothing happened. I was so bummed. So I grabbed some water and left for home. When I got home I took the next test in the box, and it came back positive in seconds. I was shocked. Eric was golfing with his friends. So I called my best friends Krista, and told her I wasn’t sure if it was actually positive because the other one was faulty. She laughed, and cried, and told me that it’s pretty hard to fake a positive test. Haha. I still wasn’t convinced so I ran to Walgreens down the street and grabbed 3 different boxes of test, got home peed in a cup and dipped all of them. They ALL turned positive in seconds. Then I cried and was convinced. I was pregnant.
It was such a surreal moment in my life. Something I had been working 6 months towards. With all the tears and disappointments’ each month of not being pregnant. I was finally just that, pregnant!!  My/Our whole lives were about to change.
So like I said Eric was golfing with his friends and he wasn’t sure when he was going to be home. I told him not to eat without me, and he instantly thought something was suspicious. I just told him that he needed to hurry home because I had something huge to tell him.
I called back my friend Krista and told her how I’m definitely pregnant, and I wanted to find a fun way to tell Eric. She suggested airplane tickets since we were leaving the next day. I thought it was a great idea and got to work.
I came up with this.
When Eric came home I had it all laid out on the table. He was in shock, and a little drunk from golfing. He asked me if I was joking, and I said no, and his face just went blank. Haha. He was totally in shock.
Eventually the shock wore off and we talked about it, all was good, except we were leaving out of the country in 48 hours, and I was feeling very sea sick already. Time to book a doctors appointment and tell our family.
