Dear Charlotte Rose,
Hi! I’m Jessica, the mom and wife behind Tangled in Andereggs.
Dear Charlotte Rose,
You guys! Remember that one time I went to the ABC Kids Expo and then never wrote about it? I’m so way behind on posting! The Expo was back in October of last year?!?!! So many good things came from the Expo! I met a ton of amazing people. This small shop in Georgia named Shop Happy Mango sponsored me to go, I helped them find some new amazing products for their shop and helped talk to some people I’ve been recently working with!

We received the Little Balance Box about two weeks ago. We were using our what I like to call “Lazy Walker” and it just wasn’t helping Charlotte learn to stand, or walk at all, in fact I felt like it was holding her back more than anything. Charlotte is now letting go of the Little Balance Box and has confidence enough to take a few steps towards us. It has helped her posture and learning to stand up on her own greatly.
Happy New Year from my little family to you!
I know it’s a little late, but I’m trying to catch up!!
For my parents for Christmas I got them a family photo session! It was the first time in years that we have taken professional pictures together that wasn’t for a wedding or on an iPhone! It was so much fun, and such a good time. Create Photography took our images below, they were incredibly professional and we got so many good images!
I’ve decided that for our parents every year we’re going to do two separate family shoots. Family photos are so important and they make your home so much more happy and inviting! Just from being a professional photographer before I know how special photos are.
Today marks year 2 of marriage for Eric and I. I couldn’t ask for a more selfless, and hardworking husband. If not for his hard work and dedication to his job I wouldn’t be able to stay home and raise Charlotte. Eric and I met back in Spanish class freshman year of high school. Come junior year we went to different schools and didn’t really speak again for almost 6 years, until Eric started stalking me on Facebook and asking me out. I finally said yes, and we went to a Toby Keith and Eric Church concert, it was over from there. We’ve been together for going on 6 years. We have conquered 7 states, 9 different countries, 2 dogs, and 1 baby together so far. Some days are easy, and other days are not so easy, but at the end of the day we have each other, a roof over our head, our bellies are full, and the amount of love we have for each other will conquer anything it throws our way. I love you so much Eric, thank you for creating this beautiful life with me, and especially thank you for giving me another best friend besides you… aka Charlotte! You’re the best!
Charlotte is 5 months old! Oh my goodness, this little pumpkin is growing up so fast, I kinda wish she would just slow down, or at least time would slow down. This past month so much has happened. Charlotte started trying baby food, so far she has tried carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes, peas apples and bananas. The only thing she has not liked was peas, bananas and apples. Peas doesn’t surprise me but the fruit did, I guess she will just be my veggie girl. She also started scooting backwards and she scoots in circles, here before too long I just know she’ll be crawling. She is also sitting up for long periods of time unassisted, she loves to be sitting up or laying on tummy or side. Whenever she lays on her back she does a crunch to see what’s going on. She loves dogs, especially her doggies she pets them and it’s the sweetest thing in the world. Charlotte also loves when you hold her hand. She holds my hand to fall asleep at nighttime. Here before too long we’re going to transition her out of our bed and into her own and I’m just not ready yet, I wish I could cuddle her at night for forever. Anyways she still loves her Sophie, also she loves this infantino rattle that she has right now, and of course some car keys. She doesn’t like her pacifier at all, and uses it very rarely when she’s extremely tired, she also doesn’t suck her thumb anymore. I can’t wait to see what next month brings, we just love this sweet girl so much.
Eric and I ordered Thrive on 9/3/2016. It has been a month of testing it out and seeing if it really does make you “THRIVE.” Thrive is a three step product that gives you long lasting energy throughout the day, helps with weight management, headache relief, joint/immune/digestive support, and mental clarity. There is two pills you take in the morning along with a DFT patch you place on your skin, and a shake you mix and drink. It’s a very simple product that even as a new mom I can accomplish.
When I first had Charlotte I lost all my baby weight very quickly thanks to breastfeeding, but I was extremely exhausted and lazy. I just wanted to lay in bed with her all day and cuddle, even though I needed to get stuff done around the house and be a normal human being in society. I don’t drink coffee normally just because it hurts my stomach and makes me jittery, I’m usually just a tea drinker, tea has a very minimal amount of caffeine in it. I’m super sensitive to caffeine, if I have a large pop from a restaurant I can literally stay up for 24 hours. I don’t ever drink energy drinks because it’s even worse when it happens. My whole family literally has a joke that I’m not allowed to have soda or coffee on a road trip, because I will literally not shut up for the whole trip. haha. I also refuse to take Tylenol or Ibuprofen for headaches, because I know my body needs water. I just try to be as healthy as possible also because I’m breastfeeding.
I was totally on the fence for taking this product from the beginning because I needed to look into more and like I said I don’t normally like to put stuff into my body that I don’t know about. Well Thrive is completely non GMO it’s basically a huge multivitamin. Right from their website it states that ‘Thrive is a premium grade naturopathic formula of Vitamins, Minerals, Plant Extracts, Anti-Oxidants, Enzymes, Pro-Biotics, and Amino Acids.” I know that so far it really has worked. Eric has lost almost 10lbs and I’ve only lost 2, but I stopped taking it two weeks in because I was skeptical as everyone else and I wanted to see if it really worked. Once I stopped taking it I didn’t crash or gain a bunch of weight back like most products. I literally just got sleepy and lazy again. Taking Thrive has made a huge difference in my life so far. When I wake up in the morning I take it and feel refreshed and ready to go for the day. At night time instead of spending hours playing on my phone trying to fall asleep I doze right off, and sleep soundly, unless Charlie needs some momma milk then I wake right up and feed her and then fall right back asleep soundly. I get more stuff done around the house and I’m not lazy. For a new momma this has helped me feel normal again and has helped me be more productive. If you don’t believe me take the 8 week challenge, I’m only on week four technically and I’m still loving it. I’m not a promoter yet, and I don’t know if I have the time it takes to promote the product, but I love it and I think everyone should give it a shot if they can! If you have 2 people sign up for auto-ship under you, you get yours free, and that’s without even becoming a promoter. I know if you love it, your friends will love it too!
For my baby shower we received a lot of diapers. We didn’t do a diaper raffle, and Eric didn’t do a Diaper Poker Night, which I wish we would of, but we did receive a lot of diapers. For all of size one and most of size two we didn’t need diapers. We are now in size 3 diapers, and we had to make a decision on what brand we were going to go with. This is my personal review of Honest Company, Babyganics, Huggies, Naty and Pampers diapers.
As new parents the hospital sent us home with Pampers, and seeing that little blue line was so helpful at the beginning, we didn’t really have blow outs with Pampers NB/1 or Huggies size 1 either which was nice. I personally dislike Babyganics for diapers the most, we had them in a size 1 and they truly are the worst. I love all their bath and bottle products but their diapers are crap. I actually exchanged these size three diapers for store credit at Babies R Us, because I couldn’t imagine loosing more clothing to blowouts. We used Naty diapers in a pinch and had them in size NB, they honestly felt like paper and smelt so weird. So we threw most of them away. Just seemed not nice on my brand new little babies bum. The newborn diapers for Pampers were so nice and so were Huggies size 1, like I said above, but once we got her into 2’s they felt different and didn’t seem like they lasted very long, which was kinda frustrating. Honest Company we only had in a size two and I can say from personal experience that these are the best organic diapers I have tried thus far. They’re so nice and lets be honest so cute!
Honest Company also has the best cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, and bath products. I’m a major fan of the Honest Company as you can tell, but all that aside, they truly do make the best diapers. Sometimes we have little slips of poop explosions, but it’s never massive or up her back. We don’t change Charlotte throughout the night, we dream feed and go right back to bed, and the diapers are not sloshy or gross in the morning and we never ever have a leak through of pee. I eventually would like to try Parasol Diapers and Bambo Nature, but for now I signed up for the Honest Company subscription, and I love them.
The Honest Company has a wonderful subscription that you can even use for two kids at once if need be. You get six packs of diapers, you can customize sizes, and colors, so for example you can have 2 packs of 3’s and 4 packs of 5’s. I also love their wipes, they’re nice and thick and clean everything up really well. The subscription can be 3, 4, 5, or 6 weeks apart, and you can change the colors and sizes at those times. We also compared buying bulk from Costco or buying from Honest and Honest diapers were actually cheaper in comparison to other brands.
Like I said above this is just my personal experience with diapers in the short amount of time that I’ve been changing them, all babies and parents are different, but this is my opinion.
For Labor Day we decided to go to a Dodgers game and go to Laguna Beach for the holiday weekend. We started our weekend by getting up bright and early and heading to LA. Charlotte was the BEST baby on the car ride to LA she stayed asleep the whole trip. We booked both our hotels through Hotels.com our first hotel we stayed at was The Hilton Pasadena. We have stayed at this Hilton before and we enjoy the cleanliness and the location. It’s close to Dodger stadium and that’s all we really need, nothing crazy fancy. It was Charlotte’s first time in a hotel, and we all slept like babies that night after the game. This was also Charlotte’s first MLB game. She loves to watch baseball with her daddy at home, but I’m glad we got to take her to her first game. She was so well behaved, and even took a short nap while we enjoyed the game. Unfortunately the Dodgers lost to the Padres. Before the game we went to a restaurant called Islands Restaurant we have one of these in Las Vegas and have never been to it (big mistake). I had the best burger ever its called the Nalu Nalu Burger. It has roasted garlic aioli, which I just tried for the first time not too long ago and love, the burger also has sautéed onions and mixed peppers on it. Seriously the best burger I’ve ever had. So yummy. I’ve also been trying different beer’s our recently and have been enjoying IPA’s more. Never thought I would like a little hop in my beers but they’re different and yummy.
We booked a hotel on the beach in Laguna called Capri Laguna Inn on the Beach, since it was a holiday weekend it was very expensive, and not thinking about it I booked a queen size room instead of a king (Big Mistake). I mean we didn’t spend much time in our room anyways but I wish we would of gotten a balcony with a sliding glass door and a couch, or even an ocean view room. From just exploring Laguna if I ever stayed there again I’d stay at the Surf and Sand Hotel, much bigger and the amenities were way nicer. Eric had a headache and we had to go over there, because our hotel didn’t have a gift shop. Our first morning in Laguna we just strolled a mile down to the main shopping area, we had lunch at this cute little restaurant called Laguna Beach Brewery & Grille the service was really good, and they had plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, and had high chairs for kids. Even though Charlie fell asleep after a little milk and slept in her stroller, there were other children in the restaurant in high chairs. I ordered the Taco Culiacan, they were delicious and Eric ordered the Carnitas, which were also very yummy. After that we strolled around and went to this little kids boutique called Little Bohemian they had Bla Bla Kids Shop dolls and I just had to get one for Charlotte. We actually let her pick between the mermaid and the froggy princess and she picked the frog. She loves it. It’s so cute! That night we decided to get pizza for dinner from Gina’s Pizza and just relax. The next morning Eric picked us up some coffee and croissants from Koffee Klatch. We then got ready for the beach, our hotel has chairs and umbrella’s right there on the beach with a service guy it was so nice. Charlotte put her feet in the sand and loves it, it was so cute. She enjoyed some mama milk and then took a nice long nap right there next to the ocean. It was so peaceful and nice, Eric fell asleep too. After that we decided to change and get some lunch at Sapphire Laguna ok I know said that the other hamburger place I had was delicious, but this hamburger was also one of the best ones I’ve ever had, and they had garlic fries!! I ordered the Kobe Beef Havarti Cheeseburger and Eric got the Fish and Chips. We then stopped at this cute little gelato place right there next to Sapphire’s it was so good too. We headed back to the hotel and decided to go swimming in the pool. We did that for a little bit and then Eric went and grabbed us sandwiches and we sat up on the balcony of the hotel and ate with ocean breeze and sunset. It was beautiful and simple. I loved it.
I decided that night that with how bad traffic is always coming home from California to Nevada that I wanted to get up early and leave at 4am. We did just that, and didn’t hit any traffic on the way home either, it was so nice. Charlotte did amazing again. We even stopped at the Fashion Outlet’s in Primm, NV and enjoyed some shopping before coming all the way into Las Vegas.
Overall our second family trip ever was amazing and fun. I can’t wait to see where we go next!!
We decided to get some family photos done, my good friend Chauntelle from Chauntelle Graf Photography took them for us. It was a super quick mini session, which was just enough time for Charlotte’s first awake professional photoshoot. This little girl did so good during our session. She was all smiles for everyone. I wanted to try to get her some photos of just herself, but she absolutely hated the grass (as you can see above). I definitely want to get her some photos done for her 1/2 birthday. I guess from being a professional photographer before photos are so so so important to me, and you can never have too many! I hope you all enjoy these photos!
PS. My outfit choice was not my favorite, the skirt was up a little higher than I wanted, but oh well, you live and you learn!
